Asbestos Removal for Network Rail – Scotland

EMS recently spent the weekend in Scotland undertaking an asbestos removal project on a railway viaduct. The project for Network Rail had to be carried out over a weekend to ensure minimal disruption to the railway network. The section of asbestos cement that required removal was approximately 50 metres in length. The site in West Lothian, required EMS to safely remove and dispose of the asbestos cement channel which ran the full length of the viaduct.

EMS have experience in managing time sensitive railway situations. The key is to plan and implement the works in a time efficient and hassle-free manner with health and safety of upmost consideration.

The non-licensed work required our operatives to wear Orinasal ‘half-face’ RPE masks during the work. Orange hi-viz reflective clothing, hard hats and safety googles were also required to ensure the safety of operatives whilst working on the railway itself. The work was carried out to the highest safety specifications and to the clients’ satisfaction.
