Environmental Management Solutions are a proud sponsor to the Cheltenham Open Door Renovation project.

As part of Cheltenham Borough Homes’ ten year celebration, we worked with them to renovate a local charity working to relieve poverty, hardship and social or emotional distress.

The Cheltenham Open Door offers services to vulnerable, disadvantaged and lonely people all year round. These services include, hot meals, clothes store, shower room with soap and towels, TV room for relaxation, companionship and respect and links to expert agencies.

For the duration of a two week period, the Cheltenham Open Door closed its doors so that works could commence to regenerate the kitchen, bathroom and communal areas providing a more efficient and pleasant place for both volunteers to work and for clients to visit.

As part of this, Environmental Management Solutions undertook asbestos surveys to the entire building, at no cost, to ensure that the renovation work could be completed safely and to identify any asbestos in the property

The areas that were improved included a larger area for preparation, improved storage areas, 2 new cookers, news kitchen sinks and taps, new shower, toilet and basin, redecorating and painting tuition for visitors to the shelter.

The hard work and commitment from all involved is praised by Cheltenham Open Door and EMS are proud to have been involved in such a project.
