Combined Investigation – Apartment Block Manchester

Environmental Management Solutions undertook a combined geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigation for the redevelopment of a former mill site in Manchester.

The desk study identified a number of potential contaminant sources including former cement works, iron works and chemical works.

Intrusive site investigation was undertaken using cable percussion drilling and machine excavated trial pits.

Investigation was complicated by the presence of numerous buried foundation structures relating to the former mill buildings.

Despite this, the investigation was completed within budget and in a period of just 5 weeks (from instruction to completed report).
