EMS have flown to Glasgow after a rapidly developing fire in the City Centre has put buildings at serious risk. The ongoing situation developing in Sauchiehall Street is threatening buildings in the commercial area.
As asbestos consultants to clients of some of the buildings, it is necessary for us to assess the situation as soon as possible.
The fire was thought to have taken hold within a roof space of a commercial property on the street at around 8:20am on Thursday morning. Eight fire engines are currently at the scene dealing with the critical situation.
Eye witnesses have described seeing smoke from the fire across the city. A number of streets have been closed off and residents evacuated.
