EMS are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a place on the Central Housing Investment Consortium (CHIC) Compliance Audit Services Framework 2021 for Asbestos Management Auditing. (December 2021).
Michael Harris, Supply Chain Account Manager for CHIC said of the award:
“CHIC is delighted to have awarded Environmental Management Solutions a position on the Asbestos Management Auditing Lot of our Compliance Audit Framework. This will help to ensure tenants have safe and secure homes to live in. It will form part of the CHIC Building Safety package of Frameworks and solutions for our Members. We look forward to working with EMS in the near future.”
CHIC provides a comprehensive suite of services for its 200 plus members, combining contractor and supply chain solutions for affordable housing landlords and other public sector bodies across their asset management and development programmes.
The four-year Compliance Audit Services Framework 2021, commissioned companies for the provision of asbestos management, as well as a range of other compliance services including water hygiene, electrical safety and fire safety and has an estimated value of £150m over the contracted period. The framework has been designed to provide comprehensive audit services and independent assurance for members’ ongoing building and resident safety services. CHIC’s ambition is to provide an environment where members can access a range of internal Policy Compliance and Site Portfolio Audits along with Site Contractor Assurance Audits.
EMS, established in 2003, have vast experience of providing comprehensive audit services on behalf of our diverse range of clients throughout the public and private sector. In addition to auditing, as asbestos consultants EMS offer a full range of asbestos services including UKAS accredited asbestos surveys, asbestos management plans, air testing & monitoring, asbestos laboratory testing, asbestos awareness training, project management, consultancy and asbestos removal services.
We are thrilled to have gained a place on the framework and look forward to working with CHIC’s clients throughout the UK. In addition to securing a place on the CHIC Compliance Audit Services Framework in 2021, EMS also won a place on Fusion 21’s National Building Safety & Compliance Framework for England and secured an asbestos air testing and monitoring contract for South Wales based Housing Association Tai Calon during 2021.
EMS have seen considerable growth in the last two years, including acquiring an asbestos air testing consultancy based in Cardiff during 2020. This was part of a long-term plan for growth and development of the consultancy. This culminated in accreditation to ISO17025 in September 2021 for bulk analysis at our Hereford office, in addition to our existing ISO17020 accreditation and ISO17025 accreditation for air testing administered from our Cardiff office address. Accreditation to both ISO17020 and ISO17025 has allowed us to tender and secure larger contracts during 2021 and we look forward to doing the same throughout 2022.
